PCC News – March 2019

Children’s area The PCC discussed the proposal to establish the area at the front of the South aisle as a “children’s area” at the last meeting on 28th January. The options – to revert to the original layout of three pews, or to adopt the current configuration – were discussed fully, and the PCC was thanked for the opportunity to hold a consultation with the wider parish community.  It was stressed that the area was not a permanent change to the interior of the church, and could be used for other purposes than children eg. a quiet area, or for meetings. There is a need for the church to move forward together.  It was agreed that the area would remain, subject to the granting of a faculty to allow alteration to the pews.

The next meeting of the PCC will be held on Monday 4th March at 7.30pm, and items for “Any Other Business” should be forwarded to the Chair, Revd Angela, or Secretary, Mary Pryle, at least 24 hours before the meeting.  This meeting will be attended by James Royal, Head teacher of Blackrod Church School, to discuss links between the church and school.

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting will be held on Thursday 11th April at 7.00pm, followed by a light supper and all are welcome.  The Annual Report will be available for parishioners from Sunday 24th March, and if you have any queries or comments arising from the report please bring them to the meeting.
