Lenten News and Events 2019

Lent Pilgrim – Easter Pilgrim

The Church of England’s 2019 Lent and Easter campaigns will take followers from the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday, through to Easter with the LentPilgrim reflections, and on from Easter Day to Ascension Day with EasterPilgrim reflections.

You can follow the Lent campaign on-line through the website, or send off for a booklet to guide you through the forty days. (£2.99 plus postage).  The booklets, written by the Bishop of Oxford, Steven Croft, will guide followers through the 40-day journey, reflecting on the Apostles Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, the Commandments and the Beatitudes. The daily reflections provide a short Bible reading, an invitation to pray and a suggestion of how you might respond to the challenge of how to live as God intends, both as an individual and in the community.

Starting from Wednesday 13th March, at 10.30am, the Lent meditations will be held each week at St Katharine’s church.

Everyone is welcome, and each session will be followed by light refreshments and a chance to meet, have a chat, and discuss the day’s theme.

Led by clergy, this is a chance to share Jesus’ journey to the cross each week on Wednesdays at 7.00pm in St Katharine’s Church.  The sessions will be followed by Holy Communion.  All welcome.
