The talk in January was entitled “The Naughty Vicar of Blackrod” and featured Rev Peter William Browne who was Vicar at St Katharine’s from 1846 – 1861. He certainly saw life!
Great dedicated research as always by David Hargreaves and a packed room thoroughly enjoyed the insight into life in the 19th century.
On Thursday 21st February at 2pm there will be a visit by a member of Wigan Archaeological Society who will speak about “The Romans in Blackrod” so we can look forward to another fascinating afternoon.
