The Road to Rivington

Tuesday 13th June.  Sunny morning awaited us as we met at Rivington Bowling club.  Eight adults only today.  Walked down Horrobin Lane, turned right passed upper Rivington reservoir.  On hitting Knowsley Lane, turned right following the reservoir then up Parsons Bullough Road.   As we walked a circular on the moor route a deer was spotted by Elaine.  Luckily everyone managed a glimpse of it as it jumped around.  As usual there were birds a plenty.

Coffee stop was at Hodge Brow.  Vic relinquished his role as photographer to David today.  Off we go again carrying on up the hill we then turned right over pasture paths overlooking Yarrow reservoir, arriving at Rivington tea rooms.  No refreshments allowed here though.

We carried on up Sheep House Lane, turned right and cut across to the Top Barn, turned right to Bottom Barn and Go Ape arriving at the Bowling Green for lunch.

As the sun was still shining, lunch was enjoyed outside.  Eddie
